A smiling Isabelle “Izzy” Mirzaei

In January 2008, Isabelle “Izzy” Mirzaei was diagnosed with Beta Thalassemia Major, a genetic blood disorder. Her body was unable to produce healthy red blood cells and as a result required regular blood transfusions. In 2018, Izzy underwent a successful bone marrow transplant, donated by her youngest sister Lillian, and is considered 100% cured! Izzy now lives life as a normal teenager, thanks to the support of donors like you!
