Eight-year-old Hudson smiling.

Hudson, a 8 year old from Peace Dale, suffered from acute liver failure as an infant. He was treated at Women & Infants Hospital and required 96 blood transfusions in order to save his life.

Hudson is now a healthy third grader, who is a big advocate for blood donations after having his life saved thanks to the generosity of donors in our community. In 2021, Hudson’s family, friends, and neighbors stepped up and donated more than 100 pints of blood in his honor. This surpassed his goal of 96 donations—one for every blood transfusion he received! This year, there will be a similar drive in Hudson’s honor.
