Aspen was diagnosed with a rare subtype of Acute Myeloid Leukemia known as RAM just before her first birthday in 2021. She immediately started transfusions every 2-3 days and then had a bone marrow transplant.
In January 2022, Aspen relapsed and has now started chemotherapy again. While her battle is still ongoing, the gift of blood was and continues to be lifesaving for Aspen.
