Young Aria smiling.

Just days after being born, Aria suffered from severe jaundice. She was rushed to the hospital where the doctor delivered horrible news: “[He said] they needed to do an emergency double exchange,” said Cristina Laughlin, Aria’s mother.

Now, Aria is thriving. Her recovery was made possible because of 50+ red cell donations. Aria likes to eat lots of snacks and chase the dog around, according to her father, Paul. Her family has since become blood donors and her mom now works in RIBC’s contact center asking the community to make donations like the ones that saved her daughter.
