Rhode Island Blood Center participated in this year’s 23rd Annual Tomorrow Fund Stroll, held Sunday at Garden City Center in Cranston. The event brought together patients, families, supporters, and community organizations for a morning focused on connection, resilience, and support.
Hosted by The Tomorrow Fund, the annual Stroll raises funds to provide emotional and financial assistance to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Participants of all ages gathered to walk, fundraise, and enjoy music, food, raffles, and community activities.
The blood center was on-site with its donor bus, offering attendees the opportunity to donate blood while supporting a cause closely tied to patient care. Its presence highlighted the essential role blood donors play in treatment, particularly for pediatric cancer patients who often rely on transfusions throughout their care.
Several attendees, including Ellora Hendrickson and Brock Nowicki, received lifesaving blood transfusions during their treatment journeys. Their families have remained connected to Rhode Island Blood Center through advocacy and community involvement. Brock attended alongside family and supporters under the team name “Brockstars,” a group that has become a familiar presence at the Stroll.
The strong turnout underscored the impact of local partnerships and shared purpose. Events like the Tomorrow Fund Stroll reinforce the connection between blood donation and patient care while creating space to recognize survivorship, resilience, and the families at the heart of both.
