Are You On Track To Receive a Seasons' Pass Print?

Now entering its 12th year, our popular Seasons' Pass program encourages and rewards individuals who present to donate four times a year - representing the four seasons - and also blood drive sponsors who host four blood drives a year.

Individuals who present to donate four times over the year (the Seasons' Pass year runs from March 1 thought the last day of February) receive a print of an original painting or photograph created by that year's featured Seasons' Pass artist.

Sponsors who run four drives a year receive a framed print for the workplace. If you are a regular donor, your probably right on schedule for this year's Seasons' Pass! If not, there's still time to donate to receive your print by Warwick photographer Mike Dooley.

Mike's new work - created especially for the Blood Center - will be unveiled in March 2015. Mike's photography brilliantly blends the sky and the land, often capturing the first morning light or evening sun setting over familiar locales.

If you would like to donate at any of our other Rhode Island Blood Center facilities, they are located at 405 Promenade St., Providence; 688 Aquidneck Ave., Middletown; 615 Greenwich Ave., Warwick; 2168 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket and 143 Franklin Street, Westerly.

Additionally, the Blood Center holds more than a dozen blood drives throughout the state daily. For hours at the donor centers and locations of blood drives, Search For Drives Here

Star Wars Franchise Reigns Supreme at "Galaxy" Blood Drive
Fans of the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises turned out in force at the recent Galaxy Blood Drive held at the Providence Public Library. The family-friendly blood drive helped the Rhode Island Blood Center's collection efforts during the busy holiday season, a particularly challenging time for blood donations when hospitals have a greater need for blood units. Star Wars was also voted the favorite franchise at the drive, which was attended by nearly 50 fans and blood donors.

Rhode Island Blood Center Announces
Dates for Our
Design for Life Contest!

The Rhode Island Blood Center is currently running their Annual T-shirt design contest and recognition program to acknowledge one gifted artist and hundreds of students that donate three times a year.

Student artists age 19 and under will be able to submit T-shirt designs by mail or on-line between September 2, 2014 and Friday March 20, 2015. The Center will then narrow the entries to a group of three finalists. The winner will be chosen by a community wide on-line secret ballot that will run between March 31, 2015 at 9am and Friday April 4, 2015 at 4pm. The winning design will be printed on T-shirts and distributed to individuals 19 and under who present to donate three times between July 8, 2014 and July 7, 2015 and make one attempt at a high school blood drive.

The winning artist will receive considerable exposure in the Rhode Island Blood Centers newsletter, in media releases on the Blood Centers web-site, and social media pages. The winning designer will also receive an 16GB iPod Nano.
